My Well was launched as a ministry to give churches a better alternative to process donations. With our Giving Platform, Rock Gateway, and Payment Processing products, we’ve been able to help over a thousand organizations keep millions of dollars in ministry. As a ministry ourselves, we know that it takes a lot to run a nonprofit ministry.
Keep reading for a list of six free resources that your organization could benefit from using.
1. Rock RMS
Every ministry needs a way to capture information about its current and potential supporters to effectively communicate with them. There are many existing tools, but most either cost too much or do not allow enough customization. Rock RMS is a church management system that runs on donations and is a completely open-source platform that you can manage on your own.
The basic building blocks for Rock are individuals and their relationships. That is why its name includes RMS, which stands for Relationship Management System. By getting started with Rock, you’ll join a community of like-minded churches that help each other. You’ll also gain several key features such as calendar & event registration, group management, and check-in services.
Rock RMS is an incredibly powerful tool to help centralize how you manage and communicate with your members. You have the option to have Rock host your website, and they will provide an enterprise-level foundation that can scale with you as your organization grows. Rock RMS also seamlessly integrates with My Well Ministry to help you reduce your costs for online giving and easily run reports and analysis on your donors.
2. Amazon Web Services Credit Program for Nonprofits
In our world, there are multiple ways to communicate with people. With Amazon Web Services (AWS), you can easily track and store that information to better serve everyone. AWS is a developer platform that provides dozens of services like cloud server infrastructure, identity management, cloud-based file storage, media services, and machine learning tools.
Internationally, there are over 10,000 nonprofits and non-governmental organizations using AWS in some capacity. The benefits range from growing community services, accelerating research, to preserving the culture and history. Check out AWS.amazon.com for more information about all the programs and training offered.
If you're trying to host your own app or website, build a custom application for your nonprofit, or make your infrastructure more scalable in the cloud, then the AWS nonprofit credit will most likely appeal to you. Visit their website to get started today!
3. Microsoft Azure Credits for Nonprofits
Having access to database management and cloud services is essential for many organizations, and Azure can help get you there. Azure is a cloud computing service operated by Microsoft for application management. Through their nonprofit program, you can use up to $3,500 of donated services per year and access the complete portfolio of their products and cloud services for your database management, website hosting, data backup, and more.
After applying for Azure, your nonprofit will gain access to several helpful resources. They will provide you with tools to guide your ministry through a successful cloud migration. In addition to that, you will also be able to protect your organization against cyber threats with their security program and receive training on how to best use Azure.
To be eligible for the program, your ministry must be a nonprofit or non-governmental organization with recognized 501c3 status in your respective country. You can check your eligibility status by visiting Microsoft.com.
4. AmazonSmile for Nonprofits
We know that raising funds is no easy task, but when your ministry partners with AmazonSmile, the process can be quite simple. Customers can select your organization when shopping for eligible AmazonSmile purchases, and Amazon will donate 0.5% of the cost to your ministry.
To apply for AmazonSmile, search for your charitable organization at org.Amazon.com. It's important to note that in order to be eligible, your nonprofit must be listed with GuideStar. After you check that you are eligible, you’ll need to create an organization administrator account.
Due to the expense of check processing and fulfillment, donations are distributed using electronic transfer so they can donate 100% of the funds to their partners. AmazonSmile is a simple and effective way for your ministry to reach its financial goals at no cost to you.
5. Canva for Nonprofits
As a church, you've got to ensure your dollars are going as far as possible, and marketing costs can be hard to justify. With Canva for Nonprofits, your ministry can easily design high-quality graphics for print and social media using their collection of templates and imagery. Registered nonprofits are able to use these premium services from Canva for free.
Canva provides a customizable brand kit so your design team can easily use your logo and colors as you create custom imagery for social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn. You can even leverage Canva to design print materials and save them as a PDF file! These features and many others are available for your entire team.
After reading the eligibility requirements to see if your organization qualifies for Canva’s Nonprofit Program, you can fill out and submit the application form. Once approved, your organization will be able to reach more people with this tool.
6. TechSoup
For a church to connect with people, it must leverage modern technology, but that’s easier said than done. TechSoup is a nonprofit that provides the connections, expertise, and resources to unlock the power of tech for social good. They provide donated and discounted software, hardware, and IT service to several nonprofits, libraries, and foundations in the United States.
TechSoup's catalog includes more than 375 products from over 100 companies like Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco, and Intuit.
